02 The problem

Three bits of software. A spreadsheet. Paper certificates. And you joining it all together.

Most job apps only handle the obvious bit. You still open something else for the accounts, another tool for certificates and your inbox to work out supplier prices.

Then come the missed reminders, cold quotes and evenings spent copying numbers between places.

The Job Manager replaces that juggle with one tidy trail through the whole business.

03 What it does

The whole business, not just the diary.

01

Your day on your phone

Today's run, directions, customer details, notes and one-tap job finishing. Kept simple for work on the van.

Jobs and diary
02

Quotes that do the maths

Professional customer options, online acceptance and supplier prices read from emails and marked up automatically.

Quotes and AI pricing
03

Invoices and getting paid

Invoice straight from the job, take bank payments and let the system record them and chase overdue work.

1% capped at £4 with bank pay
04

Certificates and records

Complete certificates on site, save safely as you type and send the finished PDF to the customer or landlord.

Built around your trade
05

The accounts side

See real job profit, match supplier costs, reconcile the bank and give your accountant a clean year-end pack.

Less separate bookkeeping
06

Work that comes back

Service reminders become one-tap booking leads, while review requests help finished jobs build your reputation.

Reminders and reviews

04 Runs on its own

The chasing, reminding and matching happen while you're on the job.

01

Quotes that don't go cold

A sent quote is followed up by email and text on a set ladder until the customer answers. When they accept online, the job moves straight into the booking queue.

Automatic quote chasing
02

Invoices that chase themselves

Overdue invoices get a polite chase without you writing it, and the pay now link keeps the answer one tap away.

Automatic invoice chasing
03

Reminders that rebook

Finishing a service sets next year's reminder. It goes out before the anniversary with a one-tap book me in link, and the office sees who's due.

Service and safety reminders
04

Supplier prices, read for you

Merchant quotations are read from your email, matched to the customer and priced into the quote with your markup. The customer sees plain groups, not a parts list to price up online.

Quote-building AI
05

Your day, before you set off

A 6am email with the day's visits, addresses and notes. Customers get a booking confirmation, and every text uses a short link so it stays a single message.

Day-ahead email and texts
06

Money matched to jobs

Bank payments with the invoice number as the reference mark themselves paid. Supplier costs sit against the job so you see real profit, and your accountant gets a clean pack.

Accounts without the spreadsheet

06 Built around you

Your own app. Not another login you have to bend around.

Off-the-shelf software decides how your business should work. This starts with how it already works, then tidies the journey and removes the repeated admin.

Need a report, a form or a different way for jobs to flow? The system can grow with the business instead of forcing you to start again.

07 What it replaces

Fewer subscriptions. Fewer gaps between them.

The first live version replaced Tradify, QuickBooks and a separate gas-certificate tool, then added useful things those tools did not cover.

08 Already working

Built with a real gas engineer, not imagined in a meeting.

The first Job Manager is live with J Hacking Heating & Plumbing. It replaced Tradify, joined the accounts and certificate work into the same system and keeps developing around the business.

10 Questions

The things you'd sensibly ask.

Is it just for gas engineers?+

No. The first version was built for a gas and heating engineer, but the core journey works for plumbers, electricians and similar service trades. I adapt the trade-specific parts around you.

Is this another off-the-shelf app?+

No. You get your own version, built around the way your business works, hosted and maintained by GSD Lab.

Do I own my data?+

Yes. Your customers, jobs, documents and business data remain yours.

What if I need something it doesn't do?+

That's the point of building it this way. Useful reports, forms and changes to the job flow can be added when you need them.

Do I have to leave my current software on day one?+

No. We can move things over in sensible stages so the business keeps running while the new system becomes familiar.

What does the £495 setup cover?+

Setting the system up around your business. Your customers and job history moved in, your prices, templates and certificates set up, your bank and GoCardless pay now link connected, and time with me until you're comfortable using it. Then it's £79 a month for your own hosted version, with customer texts and the quote-building AI included.

How do service plans work?+

Customers sign up from your website and pay by Direct Debit through GoCardless. The plan collects every month on its own, raises the invoice when the payment clears and sets the next service reminder. You choose the tiers and what each one includes.
